Anagen Extend Hair Density Serum is a scientifically backed, non-greasy, and fast-absorbing formula powered by phytoestrogens, polyphenols, peptides, organic cold-pressed carrier oils, organic therapeutic-grade essential oils, and hyaluronic acid for faster growing, fuller, stronger, and hydrated hair. Estrogen plays a chief role in extending the growth (or anagen) phase of the hair cycle, while dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a by-product of testosterone, induces hair follicle shrinkage and death. In perimenopausal and menopausal women, the natural decline in estrogens and imbalance of DHT can lead to significant hair shedding and loss of density. Notably also, postpartum women, and especially those breastfeeding for an extended period as I was with my children, experience a significant and sustained decrease in estrogen levels, comparable to menopause, because of the body’s production of prolactin, a hormone needed to support breastmilk production. INGREDIENTS:
Hyaluronic Acid – A powerful hydrator/humectant, hyaluronic acid is known for its ability to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. It has also been shown in research studies to be a useful solvent for facilitating the absorption of therapeutic/bioactive compounds.
Pumpkin Seed Oil – Organic unrefined pumpkin seed oil (aka green gold) has a rich reddish-green color and is a storehouse of incredible nutrients. It is rich in linoleic, oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids, vitamins A, C, and E, zinc, phytosterols and squalene. Concerning the benefits of pumpkin seed oil for hair, research suggests that pumpkin seed oil is extremely effective at reducing hair loss, promoting growth, and keeping the hair and scalp hydrated. Its effects on hair loss and growth are brought about by phytoestrogens and fatty acids. These compounds work in concert to inhibit the activity of an enzyme, 5-alpha-reducatse, that promotes the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that miniaturizes/shrinks hair follicles, alters the cyclic phase of the hair growth cycle, and encourages hair loss and thinning. Research findings suggest that among research participants who had androgenic alopecia, those treated with pumpkin seed oil observed a 40% increase in their hair counts after 24 weeks compared to 10% in the control group. Finally, the vitamin E, squalene, and fatty acid contents of pumpkin seed oil work to keep the hair and scalp hydrated and nourished in much the same way as they maintain the hydration and suppleness of skin.
Acai Berry Oil – Wild harvested, unrefined acai berry oil is rich in fatty acids such as oleic and linoleic acids, phenolic acids such as vanillic, ferulic, protocatechuic, and syringic acids, vitamins A, C, and E, and anthocyanins. It is dark green in color with a sweet, earthy scent reminiscent of acai berries. Concerning its benefits for hair and scalp, acai berry oil’s anthocyanins are potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents that reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in hair follicle cells. Importantly also, anthocyanins are structurally similar to phytoestrogens and have been shown in research to exert mild estrogenic activity in hair follicle dermal papilla cells, increasing the number of growing hairs as well as the expression of genes related to the production of keratin, collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. The ferulic acid in acai berry oil is also a powerful antioxidant that reduces hair follicle inflammation and preserves the color, strength, and growth of hair strands. Vanillic acid has been shown in research to improve hair density in two ways: first, by promoting the proliferation of dermal papilla/hair follicle cells (in other words, stimulating the anagen/growth phase of hair) and second, by reversing and suppressing the effects of DHT, the main hormone implicated in hair loss. Protocatechuic acid, like its other phenolic acid counterparts, plays an important role in the prevention of hair loss, oxidative stress, and inflammation as well as moisture retention. Finally, the vitamin E and fatty acid content of acai berry oil provide softness, elasticity, and hydration to hair with vitamin E also alleviating oxidative stress.
Ungurahua Oil – Wildcrafted unrefined ungurahua oil (also referred to as rahua or pataua oil) is an increasingly popular and incredibly powerful oil for haircare. It is a medium green in color. It is very rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, with oleic acid accounting for 77.6% of its fatty acid content (a much higher concentration than is found in olive oil). Studies suggest that ungurahua oil is very effective at alleviating scalp conditions (such as itching and dandruff), revitalizing damaged hair, increasing hair strength, reducing hair loss, imparting moisture, controlling very frizzy hair, adding shine, and improving hair malleability for detangling purposes.
Hemp Seed Oil – Organic unrefined hemp seed oil is dark green in color and has a remarkable fatty acid profile. Precisely, it is composed of 80% polyunsaturated fatty acids (particularly linoleic and alpha-linoleic acids), 11% monounsaturated fatty acids (primarily, oleic acid), and 9% saturated fatty acids (mainly, palmitic and stearic acid). It is also rich in flavonoids, phenols, and tannins. Clinical evidence suggests that the essential fatty acids in hemp seed oil contribute to its ability to hydrate the skin and hair; precisely, omega 3, 6 and oleic acid (omega 9) work in concert to improve the softness, suppleness, and smoothness of skin and hair without leaving them greasy. The alpha-linoleic acid present in hemp seed oil prevents hair loss by blocking the 5 alpha reductase type 2 enzyme which promotes the proliferation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that shrinks hair follicles and disrupts the cyclic phase of the hair growth cycle. Lastly, hemp seed oil also contains amino acids which help to fortify and strengthen weak hair.
Avocado Oil – Organic unrefined avocado oil is an emollient, highly permeating, anti-aging, and healing oil with a characteristic dark green color. It is rich in vitamins A, C, D, and E, as well as mono and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Avocado oil’s emollient and highly permeating attributes make it particularly effective at maintaining the skin’s barrier function (which is beneficial for preventing moisture loss) and nurturing the skin, scalp, and hair. The Vitamin E and fatty acids in avocado oil combine with water molecules in the skin, hair, and scalp to facilitate moisture retention; they also provide protection against UV damage. Topical use of avocado oil has also been shown in studies to increase skin collagen density and tensile strength, decrease inflammation in bruised skin, and significantly increase wound contraction or healing.
Red Clover Extract – A therapeutic-strength extract of red clover, rich in three phytoestrogenic compounds (isoflavones, formononetin, and biochanin A), that has been evidenced to significantly increase hair growth, much like caffeine and minoxidil. Green Tea Extract – Rich in polyphenols, including epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), and caffeine, green tea extract has been shown in research studies to be a reliable alternative hair loss solution to minoxidil and finasteride. It prevents hair loss and supports regrowth by simultaneously inhibiting 5α-reductase, the enzyme that promotes DHT production, and inducing the proliferation of dermal papillae cells, the “command center” for hair follicle development and growth.
Green Coffee Bean Extract – Rich in caffeine and chlorogenic acid, green coffee bean extract works to promote hair growth via two mechanisms. First, its caffeine content extends anagen duration and hair shaft elongation by increasing blood flow to the scalp (via the dilation/widening of the scalp’s blood vessels) and suppressing the effects of DHT. Second, its chlorogenic acid content stimulates the production of keratinocyte growth factor (KGF) which supports hair follicle development, survival, and thickness.
Pea Peptide Extract – Pea extract has been evidenced in studies to significantly lengthen the anagen (or growth) phase of the hair cycle, thereby improving hair density; its mechanism of action is two-fold: it facilitates the production of hair growth-promoting factors while suppressing hair growth-inhibitory factors such as oxidative stress and inflammatory damage.
Millet Extract – Clinical strength millet extract, rich in miliacin, has been shown to extend the anagen (or growth) phase by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation in both dermal papillae and hair follicle cells. Additionally, its high concentration of methionine, a sulfur-containing essential amino acid, helps in the provision of sulfur for hair keratin development, which results in stronger, less brittle hair.
Organic Bamboo Extract – Our highly concentrated bamboo extract, standardized to 70% silica, promotes the structural integrity (i.e., strength and thickness) of hair strands, reduces the risk of hair breakage and loss, and imparts shine.

Using dropper cap, apply serum to problem (or desired) areas on scalp 1-2 times a week. Massage in with fingers or preferred hair tool. Highly recommend to NOT rinse, but may rinse after 2 hours, to allow serum actives sufficient time to absorb into scalp.
